About this app

The Roll20 Companion App is everything a player needs at game time! Keep your characters at your fingertips at home, the game store, or wherever your adventures take you. Access your 5E character sheet from your mobile device and get your character’s info at-a-glance including your armor class, feats, and inventory.

View your character’s stats and skills during your game session, including your spell DC and proficiencies. Track inspiration, spell slots, hit points, ki points, and sorcery points. Ready to roll for initiative or make an ability check? Let us do the math for you. Dice rolls made in the app are also sent to the Roll20 VTT chat, powered by our signature quantum roll server.

Characters must be created and edited on the Roll20 website and be in an active game to appear in the Companion App. You can also leave feedback for bugs and improvements straight from your mobile device.

It's better than trying to work on the website when using mobile. However, from what I've seen it's kinda eternally in dark mode, which wouldn't be an issue if all the text actually converted with it. Half the time I have to select the text to read the moves I actually have selected. It also almost never loads in well enough to tell me what exactly I rolled (I can tell if it's a fail but not a mixed success) and says nothing about what my friends rolled so I still have to have the website open!

When I first downloaded this app, the compendium and character sheets worked fine. However, after the latest update I can no longer access the compendium. It states "page not found". I have tried re-installing the app, signing out and in, and accessing different pages. Still, nothing works. It is incredibly frustrating that one of the key features to this app is not functional. As such, I have to suggest people avoid this app for the time being. Should this change I will update my review.

It really does have potential, I wanted to app to keep track of my character as my campaign group uses the website. My character sheet from the website however, never transferred over. When this app is further in development and some bugs are fixed, I will happily come back. Until then, I will be tracking my character elsewhere.
