Note: This app uses Local LLMs to run. The app downloads a 4GB Large Language Model (LLM / brains of the AI) after the it starts for the first time. This is only needed once. This technology is VERY new, right now we only support the latest flagship phones (8GB+ RAM). If your phone does not meet the minimum requirements, you may experience degraded performance. We are working hard to bring Layla to more devices.

Ratings and reviews

A really good, easy to use app for local AI chat. Also comes with plenty of cool features in the paid version. Loads custom GGUFs fine, so I've been able to test out new stuff like phi3-3b and chatbot2-7B without a hassle on my mid-range workhorse phone (Oppo A96), at pretty good speeds considering the hardware. Being able to make custom characters also lets you shape responses quite well, so the LLM is pre-prompted for various fields of questions (coding, general knowledge, story writing, etc)

On a Pixel 7 Pro, Layla with a good model is capable of a much broader variety of tasks than I anticipated. It's so weird to have AI this powerful running in the palm of your hand. Edit: even better after updates. Developer is responsive to user feedback and did a QOL fix I requested right away. Great app, great dev!

Overall pretty good app for the purposes it advertised. But one small issue from me, is that I suggest to implement the ability to stop model mid generating, then edit the user text, then starting new response generation.
