About this app

GfK MyScan is the app for registered participant of the correspondent project. With this app you can scan your purchases, put in products without bar codes, take receipt photos and send the purchase to GfK. We reward you for your efforts with premiums.

This is how you can use the app as a registered participant:

1. Install the app on your smartphone

2. Scan the QR-Code, we send you via mail or click the activation link on your smartphone.

3. You are ready to start!

There's many problems with this app. The worst one right now is that it takes too long before you can even begin to scan your groceries. The app has my 'favourite stores' saved - why do I need to type in their phone number every single time? Then comes 5 more questions and a request to scan or upload my receipt, which does no good. Allt this can be asked after I've scanned everything, not while the frozens are thawing.

Overall, this version is worse than previous. It has nicer UI, it is nice that you can use points directly from the app. But main function is degraded, one must choose user for every purchase, switching between scanned and non scanned items is not intuitive, you can't see total which is useful to see if you made mistakes or omit something. Camera doesn't focus anymore, and if recepit has more than one part you can't easily connect. Also app crashed after just few days, last one never did.

So, they did the update to this app from a previous version used here in Sweden. This hade made things going from "Kind of okay" to "Utterly useless and annoying and extremely cumbersome". The biggest issue is that you have to scan and enter numbers for Each Thing One By One! Previously, you just scanned everything, put it away in freezer and fridge and so and then later did the whole thing in one sweep. Almost everything is worse now. Bring back the old or i will leave the panel, for sure.
