About this game

The Great Champion is a narrative adventure with puzzles and mini-games set in the archaeological sites of the Valley of the Temples and Eraclea Minoa.
The co-protagonist of the game is Silvia, an aspiring journalist.

An extremely curious girl driven by a great passion for her work: the perfect person to investigate the strange sightings that have been happening in the Agrigento area for some time. Many visitors to the Valley of the Temples say they have met a strange character, dressed in ancient clothes, who enjoys running from one temple to another and then disappearing into thin air. Maybe a ghost? The news is making the rounds of national news.
Silvia is sent to the place to try to gather information. It seems that the sightings are concentrated around the ruins of the Gymnasium. As soon as she arrives on site, Silvia decides to search that area immediately.
Not a soul around, of course. As Silvia walks around warily, a gust of wind knocks her notebook to the ground. Not even the time to pick it up when a man in vintage clothes appears in front of her eyes.

“Please help me!” the man says. Silvia doesn't believe her own eyes: the one in front of her is clearly a ghost, how else can you explain the fact that she's floating? As that wasn't enough, her clothing seems to come from another era, from Ancient Greece, The man tells her his name is Epimono (from επίμονος tenacious). When he was alive he was a famous athlete of Eraclea Minoa but, while excelling in his discipline (running),
he had never managed to excel and bring glory and prestige to his city and his fellow citizens. A certain Esseneto, a famous athlete from Agrigento, had always beaten him!

However, all is not lost, even if centuries have passed. It is said that some tests are hidden in the temples of the valley: only by passing them all will Epimono be able to return to his Eraclea as a champion. Silvia, who now has experience on her shoulders and how and certainly is not one who is easily frightened in the face of the most difficult trials, decides to help him and accompany him on this journey.

Epimono supports Silvia in the exploration of the place. Only he can "activate" the evidence hidden in the temples, restore them to their former glory. In each temple one
deity/historical figure welcomes the two to test them. Before starting the tests, Epimono invites Silvia to visit the ruins of Eraclea Minoa, where he tells her about his past as an athlete.
At the end of the tests a portal opens, a temporal rift that leads Silvia and Epimono towards the ancient Eraclea Minoa, when it was still intact and prosperous. To reach the agora where the city is ready to celebrate him, Epimono has to face one last orientation test (he hasn't been back to Eraclea for a few centuries, after all!). Through the labyrinth minigame, Epimono and Silvia reach the agora but when everything seems ready for the city celebrations, Esseneto appears. “If you really want to be Sicily's greatest champion, you'll have to face me first!”.
Epimono proposes a challenge to a great classic, Pong!

Epimono naturally wins the challenge. After thanking Silvia, the athlete is praised by his fellow citizens in celebration.
