If you want a game that doesn't feel like it's sucking time, or draining over time, or ad filled, or any other kind of Chinese company made 100+ copies of the same game filled with ads, this is THE game. Naroth is inspired by old rpgs, and it shows. In both the style and gameplay this it's fantastic. I have been on and off playing this game since around when it came out originally, and I've loved it. The smaller map allows you to not get as lost, and some of the dungeons feel huge!

After some time and quests, I have to say, you can really tell the dev put some time into this. The wording is a little verbose but appropriate for the role and really adds to the immersion, and if you're having too difficult of a time, you can always harvest herbs and upgrade your equipment. Dev response edit: with the rendering, I figured as much and explained it to my bf... it's great with resources for performance. I'd be happy to share direct feedback! It's well balanced/surprisingly fun.

The arrow-tree-thing is on purpose for performance reasons on lower end devices. It's a compromise. About the rotation: It works fine on all of my test devices. I rely on coords reported by the device. If the S10 doesn't do this correctly after rotating, then I'm out of luck, I'm afraid. You can report typos to naroth@jpct.net and I'll fix them.

This is a fun little 1st person rpg game. Reminds me of daggerfall (combat and dungeon entrance shapes especially) more than morrowind. Impressive that the developer built the engine and the game. Worth playing, it's like a mini Elder Scrolls game. A few hours of overworld questing and some tense dungeon crawls. No ads, free, no crashes, try it! Edit: very cool, I'll have to find the painting!

Yes, I played some hours of Daggerfall before deciding on the look of the dungeon entrances...;-) There's even a reference to Daggerfall in the game: One of the pictures in the houses is a screen shot from it.
