About this app

This app provides access to Learning Ally’s library of human-read audiobooks, offering an extensive selection of books students want and need to read, including bestsellers, classic literature and textbooks. Now students have interactive learning tools geared to help them succeed, including highlighted text synced with the audio narration, speed control, bookmarking, highlighting, and note taking.


Learning Ally membership is required to use this app. Learning Ally is for students with dyslexia or other reading deficits who struggle with decoding, fluency or comprehension, who are blind or visually impaired, or who have a physical disability that prohibits them from reading standard print.

The app is great when it's working and I'd normally give it 4 stars. The problem is after the most recent update all my books disappeared from my shelf. Then when I tried to add back the book I was currently on, it says "The user is not active". I checked how much space the app is using without any books I can see downloaded, and it's 1.93GB. It seems that the books are probably still there, but won't let me see them or add them again because they're downloaded already.

Great app but very glitchy I love how this app works but there is definitely a few issues that need to be worked out. One such issue I'd like to bring up that is very annoying to deal with is how the audio slider keeps getting stuck at a certain position and if I jump forward or backward it jumps me from the position that it is stuck at. Also maybe make it a Setting for the audio to start playing after you jump forward or backwards or you finish saving a note.

Used to love this app. Its great for audiobooks with a large selection which my son loves but when it constantly skips back 1min+? This is a new thing for me, a few months ago this was never an issue. It can get very laggy when installing books and how it's set up is kinda irksome. When just scrolling through your books it'll randomly start downloading ones and you can't just stop it, it'll stay downloaded at 3% and if you delete it the only way is to remove it from your books entirely
