InnoCaption is a federally funded, FREE call captioning app designed to make every phone call accessible for the deaf and hard of hearing. Speak using your own voice and receive real-time captions of the other person’s responses. Transcribe and caption calls in real time using AI captioning or live stenographers (CART). Get fast, accurate, and free captions with a live transcription of your conversations with our speech to text service. The best part? InnoCaption is compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids – Signia, Phonak, Oticon, ReSound & more! Stream your calls directly to your hearing aid!

Getting started is simple! Register directly on the app and self-certify that you are deaf, hard of hearing, have tinnitus, or have another condition that makes it difficult to understand phone calls. Our FCC Certified service is offered at NO COST for eligible deaf or hard of hearing users like other federal Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) including IP Relay, TTY, Video Relay Service (VRS), and Speech-to-Speech. Unlike VRS, ASL is not required to use InnoCaption. All of your calls are now accessible with clear captions and visual voicemail for missed calls.

Live transcribe your calls! Caption modes can be switched at any time – even during calls! Select between voice to text or live human stenographer captions. Closed captioning is available in multiple languages through Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) technology.

FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS ANYONE BUT REGISTERED USERS WITH HEARING LOSS FROM USING INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP) CAPTIONED TELEPHONES WITH THE CAPTIONS TURNED ON. IP Captioned Telephone Service may use a live operator. The operator generates captions of what the other party to the call says. These captions are then sent to your phone. There is a cost for each minute of captions generated, paid from a federally administered fund.

Ratings and reviews

I've never had an issue with telemarketing scam calls before and I've received multiple now since creating an account with this app. I haven't signed up for anything else recently so I don't think it's a coincidence. I wasn't able to setup forwarding to my number due to my carrier not being listed. I probably could've troubleshot it

I finally gave up. Great customer service response time and willingness to help, but the app constantly has very bad connection to the internet (needed for VOIP) and nearly every call has such a poor quality that the other party complains they can't understand me or the caller can't hear me saying hello and gives up trying. I have missed some important medical phone calls, so I uninstalled the app and will just have to rely on my hearing aids and deal with not having any transcripts of my calls.

(Update) I still like the app but sometimes it is really hard. It only rings once, then losing the call sometimes losing my call while talking. I really like the app I just have have some issues. (Update 2) I am so frustrated, when I lose internet or my data is slow, I lose my call or don't hear all of a conversation because they thought I was still there. I love this app but I am having more frustrating moments and it is making me want to delete the app
