Used the app for a few months and liked it. But it doesn't seem to work while offline on a Samsung S21. I noticed this while trying to use the app on airplane mode on a plane. Tried working with the help desk folks but they were unable to understand the issue. After about 10 emails back and forth I decided to cancel the subscription. There are too many alternatives in this space to settle for an app that doesn't work offline.

Just downloaded and learned an entire category of words. Will likely forget by tomorrow, but I'll just play again. It's fun and easy, even for someone getting on in years, such as myself. I can't really comment on the intrusiveness or appropriateness of ads. I decided to pay for the app because it was fun and, while I don't like ads, I think developers should be compensated if the app is to my liking.

I have been looking for something EXACTLY like this - the mini "games" are suuuper helpful as well for retaining words. The reason i didn't give it 5 stars is because there are quite a few pronunciation errors in the Japanese words. I haven't tried my flashcards in the kana (so maybe the words are pronounced correctly that way) but I dont need help with pronunciation so I don't mind - I just wanted to add that in case someone is anticipating using this app to help with that aspect.
