In short: A little janky but works great. Purchased a new phone last year. Since then my hotspot doesn't work with my very old kindle hdx (it only has wireless g or something). This makes it a pain to get new books while on road trips. Wifi direct isn't enabled for file sharing on my phone, bluetooth isn't enabled on the hdx (lineage os is experimental), and I ran out of options. This app cleared it up for me so I have a lifeline on the go.

This app does a great job of connecting to Wi-Fi Direct for you and allows files or folders to be sent or received fast to either device. Just make sure you don't have airplane mode turned on and make sure your Wi-Fi is on. I couldn't get Hifi | WiFi Direct File Share app to work properly on one of my devices which uses Pie. I'm glad I discovered WiFi Direct +. Just tap either | Select Files | or | Select Folder | (buttons) and follow the instructions about double tapping a folder to select it.

Creates a hidden folder on device called "wifi_direct_files" which remains on the device even after unistalling the app and rebooting the phone!. This folder remains hidden even after setting phone to view hidden files!!!!. The folder is definitely not visible on a Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G as I tested it. A progression bar on the phone that is receiving files would be nice.
