Ratings and reviews

ALMOST PERFECT. The options are spectacular, giving you many ways to adjust the game play. I just wish the AI would be a little smarter. Like if you go Nil, it would be awesome if your partner would not lead with the 2 of diamonds. Or if you have 9 bags, maybe let a couple of them go to the other team rather than gobbling them all up? Little things like that would make it so much better.

I've tried a lot of spades apps and most of them have the same problems - the algorithm doesn't understand how to play against or in support of a nil bid, and also doesn't minimize bags when possible. This app seems to be a little smarter. I won't say I always agree with its choices but it generally seems to play strategically. Also, it's not too easy. I have it set for hard play and my team doesn't win often. It can be frustrating but at least it's frustrating for the right reasons.

I've played many spades games, and this one has some great festures. It is very easy to bypass ads, for example, and many options for how to set up and play hands. The interface is very clean and intelligible. I'm not happy some features. It's quite hard to understand some of plays made by players. Typically in spades players play their best cards first, but in this app surprising plays are made. Also surprising penalties are awarded. Today my team was penalized 200 points without explanation.
