Continued use of Location Services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Nextdoor doesn't run Location Services in the background unless you give us permission by turning on optional features that require it.

Ratings and reviews

I've had this app for a few years, seems like the developers are determined to make it unusable. I posted today, and afterwards, my home page is blank. I can access all the other options like search and everything. But the actual home page? Nope. Gone. I restarted the app and had a home page until I clicked on a post and then it was gone again. Pointless to even try to use anymore. Very disappointed.

Another posted June 2024 about the same issue. I've chosen my preferred neighborhoods. However, it now makes me select Nearby, scroll, then pick recent and scroll again. The old way I could select Recent in my settings and would see recent posts from my preferred neighborhoods. I'm not interested in a lost package in a neighborhood 30 minutes away. And, in the last week, the Nextdoor app isn't showing anything on the chat icon (upper right corner) when I have a reply to my post. Frustrating!!!

I was impressed with this app when I first downloaded it. But at this point it's severely bogged down with too many ads and people making their own ad posts to plug their businesses. I just now opened it up, and the first nine posts were all ads. Life is too short for this. The app has a ton of potential but somebody needs to show some leadership and clean up the mess that this thing has turned into.
