In this charming pixel art sim game, you'll create your own shows, deciding everything from the theme and genre down to the set and the performers who star in it. Experiment with different combinations, and you might just have a hit on your hands!

Where would a TV show be without its stars? Build rapport with different talent agencies, find performers that specialize in certain genres, and get the studio audience really fired up!

Preparation is an important part of any production. Send your staff out to scout new locations, and they'll come back with new themes, genres, and decor items, giving you even more options to work with.

Once one show airs, you can start on another right away! Publicize it in magazines, on the radio, or on social media to win new fans. How high will the ratings on your next show be...?

Ratings and reviews

Catches the gradual achievement and buffing of Game Dev Story with extra touches of control and decision making. I find myself torn after each production as to whether I should dedicate cash and research to growing the business or my team? I could get my Script Writer to a B level, or explore to discover a new genre or set? Should the new set be basic on purpose or eclectic for wow factor? Kill in the ratings, or answer a request, both? As always, limitations lead to interesting combinations!

A fun game, as with every Kairosoft title. However, during the tutorial of sorts where you had to place items your set was compatible with, I got stuck in a loop where no matter what I did, I couldn't complete the set as I ran out of funds trying to place what it told me, but it told me to place and then destroy and then replace and then destroy again.

Starts out fun and promising only to turn into a slog near the end when going for completion + high stats. Your shows barely make enough money to fund late game progression, and you will inevitably spam "part time job" over and over until your employees' energy depletes so you can scout and train a single time—and then do it again. Despite having a few more mechanics and very similar gameplay to the original Game Dev Story, this one just isn't as good. Maybe in the second playthrough.
