WHAT IT DOES
BenchPass manages memberships, member charges and payments for makerspaces and shared workshops.

• Keep a member list with certifications, key-fob and emergency contacts
• Record machine inductions and certifications (laser, CNC, welder) with the date and who certified them
• Log charges against a member — machine time, materials, locker rent — and bill them now with a payment link or add them to the monthly cycle
• Set up recurring memberships and one-off class fees
• Send each member a secure payment link
• Track paid and outstanding balances in one money view
• Group members by area (wood, metal, electronics)
• Add volunteer and staff sign-ins and export to CSV

HOW PAYMENTS WORK
Members pay on a secure payment page hosted by Stripe; the card statement shows your space's name. Money settles directly to your own bank account — BenchPass never holds your funds, and the app never sees or stores card numbers.
