WAS useful... at least before it became subscription based without warning, and even more useful before they split their "incognito mode" entirely into this app and screwed over everyone who paid for their ad-free browser. I'll stick to DuckDuckGo from now on, thanks. I strongly recommend others do the same. [edit: my app wasn't pirated. i got it off google play, as intended. can't say i'm surprised that y'all just sent a pre-written response.] [e2: i uninstalled it off my device but go off ig?]

Puffin issued a six-month warning: If piracy can't be reduced to 50% or less, Puffin will require a subscription to curb it entirely. However, the piracy rate increased to 90%, and the free Puffin was no longer freely accessible. Puffin Incognito Browser offers "extreme privacy". If "casual privacy" is what you need, DDG is an excellent choice.

Fail to see the need for a separate app. This app has a COMPLETELY different UI than the other and has significantly fewer features (e.g. no QR code search, flash theater, keyboard, etc.). Seems quite simple at first glance. It seems kind of redundant and the original worked just fine with all features of the actual browser. It was easy to use when it just popped up as a separate window but now you need two apps for what could be done with just one. Why not simply upgrade the original?

Puffin Incognito Browser focuses on "extreme" privacy. It removes features of standard web browsers that compromise user privacy. It adds advanced features beyond what the "incognito mode" can do in popular web browsers to push privacy to the limit. For users wanting "casual" privacy, the incognito mode of Chrome is a good choice.

Suddenly noticed that Puffin now seems to use DuckDuckGo as its search engine, and like it, allows fingerprinting, according to the Cover Your Tracks privacy site. Disappointing.

Puffin Incognito Browser uses DDG for search since day 1. Puffin blocks fingerprinting regardless of DDG.
