Topos are great, but the locations of boulders and routes are waaay off in Castle Rock state park (Bay Area California) so far off that I waste so much time trying to figure out where I am, it is just rediculous. I don't see why it would be hard to have exact gps coordinates for each route. Premium is too expensive also, if I am going to pay $50 I want to own the app, not have to pay again every year. Also not willing to pay $8 a month to have an app on my phone. I can't stand subscriptions.

Hi David! Castle Rock topos are "Free topos" (free to use) so the quality is not guaranteed and there's often mistakes. Premium topos (included in subscription) are verified by our team and as complete as possible. Also, subscription bought from our site (27crags.com/premium) is much cheaper than from the app as Google takes 30% commission!

I was looking at this app and it's site in preparation for a trip to a world-class area in Spain. Both led me to believe that there were great photos and topos and lots of helpful information. After I subscribed, there are exactly zero topos, almost no photos, and a small amount of videos. The videos don't open in the app, so don't expect offline access. But the ads are still there!

Hi Zack and sorry to hear about this! The crag you're talking about must be a Free topo, as there's so much information missing. Before buying Premium, one way to check which crags are Premium & which free, is with the map filters in the bottom of the map view. Please send us an email to support(at)27crags(dot)com if you want to discuss refund. 🙏

This is a very good app in a lot of ways. The topos are far superior to the text descriptions of routes available on Mountain Project, for example. I find the app easier to navigate and use than the website in general. There are a few little annoyances with the app, such as hiding the 'free' routes by default. After I became a premium member, I found that I sometimes missed the free boulders because of that default setting. I also wish that when using the map feature to navigate through trails in the woods on my way to a new boulder that the screen wouldn't dim so fast. As a suggestion, it would be a cool feature if I could be notified when new routes are published on boulders I've climbed, or near my home location.
