About this app

Ideal for students and professionals.

This app supports the FernUni certificate course. The first chapter is freely available for previewing. For the complete content, a booking through the CeW (Central European Language and Information Service) of the FernUniversität in Hagen is required.

The C++ programming language is a universal language that can be used for many applications. It is an extension of the C programming language. This extension essentially refers to the property of object-oriented programming. This property enables the programming of application software, including its entire software infrastructure. At the same time, C++ also enables system-level and thus runtime-efficient programming. C++ programs are vendor-independent due to the 1998 standardization to the "ISO/IEC 14882" standard. Furthermore, C++ programs are not tied to a specific compiler or operating system. They can therefore be transferred from one environment to another.

The course is aimed at beginners in the C++ programming language, but also at experienced C programmers. Knowledge of another programming language is helpful and supports understanding of this course.

The aim of the course is to give you an overview of the structure of the C++ programming language and to train you to the point where you are able to write your own larger programs.

The written exam can be taken online or at a FernUniversität Hagen campus location of your choice. Upon passing the exam, you will receive a university certificate. Students can also have their earned ECTS credits certified for a Certificate of Basic Studies.

Further information is available on the FernUniversität Hagen website under CeW (Center for Electronic Continuing Education).
