About this app

The 511PA app provides near real-time highway and traffic information to drivers to help them safely plan their route. This includes information on roadwork, incidents, road closures, and weather alerts on roads across the state.

This app features a scrollable, zoomable map that displays:
• Traffic speeds
• Road Conditions
• Weather Restrictions
• Updated PennDOT snowplow locations (Track My Plow)
• Incidents and closures, such as collisions and other road hazards
• Cameras
• Roadwork
• Message Signs
• PennDOT Bridges
• PA Turnpike Information
• And many other info layers!

The app also features audio alerts that notify drivers of all the types of events listed above and more! Drivers can customize their alert experience and configure the app to their preferences, including being able to only receive alerts that apply to their chosen route.

Ratings and reviews

This "new" app is terrible, it now opens to the map and not a landing page like it was so you could choose what you wanted to see. Now you must go through several menus to open a web page to get to the traffic cameras and the filters for that don't seem to work correctly. The way it was made the app easier to use and much quicker to look for the information you want. This is terrible.

Since the latest update, this app is complete garbage. The old app will let you customize what warnings you heard, what direction you're heading, only alerts in that direction. It was also very easy to find traffic cameras. All that has been taken away in this update. I'd love to get the old version back. I noticed that it's near unanimous one star reviews since the update. That should tell you all something.

I've used the app for years but this new update made me uninstall. The website works (sorta) but this app doesn't. Now you need to sign up for an account to be able to save cameras or view them easily. You have to sign up for a region for alerts but it took me several days to actually get it to finish the sign up process. When I pull up any camera, I get an error message but on the website I can see them.
