Sync lets you transfer files directly from device to device. Share photos, videos, docs without storage limits: our technology works especially well with huge files.

To get the best performance and to avoid running up your data charges while syncing folders, we recommend leaving the "Use Cellular Data" setting off.

To ensure seamless and uninterrupted background file transfers and backups, Sync requires foreground service permissions. This allows the app to run reliably even when the app is minimized or the device enters power-saving mode. Without this permission, background processes could be stopped by the operating system, leading to incomplete transfers and delayed backups. By enabling foreground services, Sync ensures your files are always up to date and automatically backed up without interruptions.

Note: Resilio Sync is a personal file syncing manager. It is not compatible with torrent file sharing applications.

Ratings and reviews

Working a little better with the 3.0 series. iOS was finally updated, and desktop versions also. The Android app still won't run in the background really for some reason. I have to manually run the Android app, then my local files (mostly phone photos, my main use case) will sync. Once I've run the app, it continues to run until I restart the phone, then I have to run it again. A little inconvenient, but at least it seems to be reliably syncing photos once I start the app manually.

I've been using this app for 8+ years on mobile and desktop. It works great on mobile but at some point it started killing my battery even with 0 syncs for multiple days straight. Each day it is at the top of my battery usage list. Using the battery saver feature in app doesn't help. I've had to stop auto starting the app and now manually start/stop it only when needed. It's annoying since it should be a background app that I shouldn't have to babysit. Also the new app logo is terrible.

Version 3.0.1 still crashes immediately on devices running Android 7.1.1.. Verified using a Galaxy Tab A, SM-T350, 2017 model. Please ensure each version of Android can launch the app, not just more recent versions of Android. Many users of this app have a couple subtly older devices they still want to sync to.
