Ratings and reviews

Overall, a solid email client. been using it (and K-9 Mail) for years. One thing that keeps this app from 5 stars is the new unified inbox. it would be nice to also show pinned or favorite folders/labels from all accounts in the side panel. as it stands, you have to go back to the account with said folders to check them and then back to the unified inbox. I know you can include folders/labels in the unified inbox, but I don't necessarily want that.

Love it on Windows, macOS and now Android. Obviously it is still in development but I have moved to it from Nine since it has stopped working properly. Gmail App is a hot mess as well, so Thunderbird was definitely my choice after realizing it was available for Android. So far so good. I wish they made the option for new mail notifications easier to find. it's buried and I'm sure they had better ratings if they did so. People can't figure out how to enable push notifications on it.

I was very excited to see that Thunderbird is finally available for Android! For me, it's almost flawless and works almost as good as the desktop version. One major feature that is missing, that I have with Bluemail is...image resize for attachments. It's almost archaic that this isn't available in TB... since every other mobile email app has it, otherwise I'd give 5 stars. I'd love to use this as my daily driver, but I just can't without the resize, as I depend on that feature.

What's new

Thunderbird for Android version 14.0, based on K-9 Mail. Changes include:
- 'Auto-fit messages' setting did not persist
- Edge-to-edge move/copy regressed with 3-button nav
- Swiping message left/right could abort prematurely
- Outlook SMTP failed authentication for some accounts
- Gmail folder prefixes appeared after refreshing folder list
- Quiet time preferences were ignored
- Thunderbird could crash after deleting an account
