About this app

FairEmail is easy to set up and works with virtually all email providers, including Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo!

FairEmail might be for you if you value your privacy.

FairEmail is simple to use, but if you are looking for a very simple email app, FairEmail might not be the right choice.

FairEmail is an email client only, so you need to bring your own email address. FairEmail is not a calendar/contact/task/note manager and cannot make you coffee.

FairEmail does not support non-standard protocols, like Microsoft Exchange Web Services and Microsoft ActiveSync.

Almost all features are free to use, but to maintain and support the app in the long term, not every feature can be for free. See below for a list of pro features.

A lot of effort has gone into this mail app, which was developed to help you protect your privacy. If you have a question or problem, there is always support at marcel@faircode.eu.

This is by far the best email app I was able to find in many years. If you are looking for an email client that supports PGP and S/Mime encryption, is highly customizable and gives YOU back control, this is the app. FairEmail's initial configuration might take some time to get used to, but it's definitely worth it. It has good online help in case you get stuck. I tried Outlook, Mailspring, BlueMail, K-9 Mail and many more but had to rule them out due to lack of functionality or privacy issues

Hands down the best open-source email app for Android. It's very feature-rich, customizable with a great amount of (optional) security features. The initial setup routine and the settings area may feel overwhelming but you can simplify it greatly. The dialog for opening links alone is ingenious. The developer is very responsive, open to suggestions and constantly improving it even further. Give it a try!

Thanks, Christian. About the settings have been said a lot, but it is hard to improve the settings without removing many of the settings, which would make other people rather unhappy. If you have an idea about how to improve the settings, please let me know via marcel@faircode.eu. Note that the settings are grouped and ordered in a logical way.

What's new

This version was released to improve a number of things:

* Fixed all reported bugs
* Added support for Surface Duo 2
* Added optional file viewing confirmation
* Added option to show both date and time in message headers
* Added option to add send-to-self to Android's share menu
* Added separate filter settings for archive, trash and spam folder
* Small improvements and minor bug fixes
* Updated translations
