About this app

This is our legacy app. It is no longer maintained and is expected to be retired in early 2025. Check out our new app, iOverlander 2, also on the Play Store, for lots of great new features and improvements. Both apps run on the same database, and can be installed together.

iOverlander is a database of places for overlanders and travelers. It includes camping, hotels, restaurants, mechanics, water, propane filling and may other categories. Details are listed for each place, including amenities, photos, date last visited and GPS coordinates. Search our listings or browse on a map!

In addition to finding places, you can add new places, record your trip, and share places with friends or other travelers. All of these features will work offline, except you will not be able to view the map.

Can no longer upload pictures on legacy app. Says I need to give app permission in settings. Which I've already done and still cant upload pictures. Please fix this! Edit: version 2 feels like a downgrade/cash grab with less functionality and ads. Would be nice if version 2 had atleast the same functionality as the legacy wherein you don't have to download map regions just to see the overlander icons. Most people dont care about the maps and export the location data to mapsme anyway.

Recently tried the new overlander app and shortly after, I uninstalled it. You have to pay to actually use it fully, which I will not be doing. I still have the older ioverlander legacy, and I'm fine with it, it has been a huge help when traveling. I love how you can see it offline when you have no service and there are a lot of diff filters you can choose from. Def recommend using the original ioverlander app, not the new one. FYI the old app is a little slower now since the newer one came out.

I used to love this app. I used it all the time and it was so useful. Since the update I find it harder to use, frustrating and it seems to get ANY benefit from it you would have to pay for it. Not to mention extremely long ads. The free version is nickel and dimed to death. I'm going to find another app as this one just got way too greedy and unfriendly.
