The aurora borealis (or northern lights) is a spectacular natural phenomenon which can occasionally be seen in the night sky over Britain. Once seen, it is never forgotten. AuroraWatch UK allows you to monitor geomagnetic activity in real time, and will let you know when aurora may be visible from the UK. Push notifications alert you when an Aurora is likely.

AuroraWatch UK is a free service run by Lancaster University, indicating the likelihood of an auroral sighting from within the UK.

This AuroraWatch UK Android app, developed in association with AuroraWatch UK, allows you to have this data at your fingertips on your phone, alerts as in on the iPhone sent directly to your phone.

Good app, would be better I'd more customisable on the notifications. for the casual observer having alerts during daylight hours doesn't make much sense. would be good if alerts could be tailored by time as well

pointless having red alerts at 8am when the sun rose at 430am ish. i believe the app needs modifying so that you can stop alerts which are for activity during daylight (which are not visible without specialist equipment) now uninstall ingredients the app

Clean and lightweight. Unable to view displayed charts though. Notifications are fine, though they could be more advanced. However, my phone is notorious for delayed notifications. There are other apps, I'm pleased enough with this for my needs.
