Sellinam 5.1 for Android is a complete new version that supports Android 11. In addition to Tamil and English keyboards, that include voice typing, this version adds Solvan - an advanced Text-to-Speech utility that reads aloud Tamil and English text.

Major new features in the keyboards include next word prediction, word correction, spelling correction, user-dictionary, short-cuts and many others.

As this is a system wide input method, you may use Sellinam to send SMS messages, Whatsapp, Viber, Skype, Tweet, Facebook and all the fun things you do on your phone --- directly in Tamil. There is no need to cut-and-paste!

Sellinam was first developed for featured phones in the year 2003 and subsequently launched for public usage in 2005, on Ponggal day.

Ratings and reviews

There are issues using the keyboard on third party apps. Especially with backspace. Letters double and space disappear. I am using this app from the day I started using android. Would like to get this issue addressed. Appreciate if this is being taken seriously.

Nice keyboard. Only two things are missing. 1. Swipe. 2. Arrow keys. Edit (Nov 2022): I have to bring down the star rating from 5 to 3, as the cursor arrow keys are sorely missing. Dictionary also missing. Biggest miss is the support from the developer. He has not even responded. He seems to have abandoned it.

When im typing a page and above. It goes very bad. The poiner jumps from the end to somewhere in middle. Often it highlights some words and started to write over it. Words will suddenly move from their place and jump to somewhere else. Im facing this issue for 4 years. I have used muliple brand phones ( Mi, samsung, vivo )...this happens in all of them.
