Stellarium Mobile - Star Map is a planetarium app that shows exactly what you see when you look up at the stars.

Identify stars, constellations, planets, comets, satellites (such as the ISS), and other deep sky objects in real time in the sky above you in just a few seconds, just by pointing the phone at the sky!

This astronomy application has an easy to use and minimalist user interface, that makes it one of the best astronomical applications for adults and children who want to explore the night sky.

Stellarium Mobile contains in-app purchases allowing to upgrade to Stellarium Plus. With this upgrade, the app will display objects as faint as magnitude 22 (versus magnitude 8 in the base version) and enable advanced observing features.

Great app, easy to use. Wish it had the capability to go farther into the past than 4999 BC. Would like to see that on the website as well for my research. Also would like to be able to just type the date I want to look at on the website instead of trying to go backwards one year at a time. Would like know what start date is used to calculate from going forward or backwards or if it's based on current star positions, etc. I would like to be able to alter this setting if not current positions.

So far... absolutely amazing!! trying the free app, and doing the 7 day free trial. looking forward to the full version at some point, but really nice real-time views, finding objects is easy and all the modes and settings make it rather enjoyable while outside! easy to use and navigate the app and the skies!!

Awesome app! Works offline, too! GPS and real time, plus past and future results. No ads. Search for a star, neighboring galaxies, the moon, etc. and it will point you in the right direction every time. You can turn off the atmosphere, so you can see more during the day, and even at night. Highly recommend app. One of my favorites.
