Prayer has always been the pillar of religion, the crowning glory of acts of obedience, and the path leading to Paradise, the Lord of all creation. It is the difference between a believer and a disbeliever. It is the greatest pillar of Islam after the two testimonies of faith. It is the first thing for which a servant will be held accountable. If it is sound, his deeds will be sound, and if it is corrupt, the rest of his deeds will be corrupt. It forbids indecency and evil, cleanses away sins, and expiates misdeeds. Through it, God raises ranks and erases sins. The angels pray for its performer as long as he prays. Therefore, Muslims have no disagreement that intentionally abandoning obligatory prayer is one of the greatest sins and the most serious of major sins. Its sin before God is greater than the sin of killing a person or seizing wealth. Abandoning prayer exposes one to God's punishment, wrath, and disgrace in this world and the hereafter. In this book, the author presents some rulings on which scholarly opinions differ regarding prayer: such as the ruling on abandoning prayer, the Friday prayer, when one should be killed, how much should he be killed, whether he should be killed as a prescribed punishment (hadd) or as apostasy (kufr), and other rulings.
The author discusses the issues and discusses the opinions regarding intentionally abandoning prayer: should he be killed or not? If he is killed, should he be killed as an apostate or a kafir? Should he not be washed, prayed over, or buried in a Muslim cemetery? Or should he be killed as a prescribed punishment (hadd) while still being deemed a Muslim? Are deeds rendered null and void by abandoning prayer? Are daytime prayers accepted at night and night prayers accepted during the day? Is the prayer of someone praying alone valid when he is able to pray in congregation? If it is valid, is he sinful for abandoning congregation? Is attending the mosque a condition, or is it permissible to perform it at home? What is the ruling on someone who interrupts the prayer without completing the bowing and prostration? What was the length of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? What is the truth about the shortening of the prayer that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) emphasized? Finally, what was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?

- A wonderful book, combining the jurisprudential rulings on the ruling on those who abandon prayer, their times, and how to perform them. In the second section, there is a very useful hadith on humility in prayer and being present in the heart during it, and the most important authentic remembrances attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in each section. May God have mercy on Sheikh al-Islam Ibn al-Qayyim.
Ahmed Taha
- The book includes most of the various rulings related to prayer. It presents the opinions of jurists and transmitted hadiths, weakens, authenticates, and comments. This is a good thing, but I am not intending to delve into it and research it at this time. Therefore, I have not read most of the book carefully, except for the last chapters, which deal with the description of the Prophet's prayer and some of the meanings derived from the pillars of prayer.
Religion
- Oh my God, this book is one of the most wonderful things written about prayer. It should be in every Muslim home.
Hossam Saeed
- A very beneficial book on the rulings of prayer and the responses to the various narrations about it. The most important thing about it is that it concludes with a simple description of the prayer of the Noble Messenger. I highly recommend reading it, as there is nothing more important than perfecting prayer, which is the pillar of this religion.

- You cannot read this book without realizing your shortcomings in the most important pillar of Islam after the two testimonies of faith. Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, presents successful answers, supported by sufficient evidence, to questions about prayer, starting with the punishment for abandoning it and the scholars' disagreement over this, then the ruling on delaying it, then the ruling on the condition of praying in congregation. He continues on until he addresses all related questions, concluding his book with a description of the prayer of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said, "Pray as you have seen me pray."
Aziz al-Ayyashi
- A wonderful book, as is Ibn al-Qayyim's wondrous habit when he tackles a topic, presenting every aspect, every part, every opinion, and every hadith. Among the chapters of the book are: The ruling on abandoning prayer, the ruling on abandoning Friday prayer, the types of disbelief, and whether it nullifies the prayer. Actions related to abandoning prayer, missed prayer, and the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)... a truly valuable book.
