Tap Academy has been good for learning, but there could be more variety is drills. Things that need improvement: 1. The pop game is not compatible with shortcuts, I'm punished for using shortcuts. 2. When you break a personal record, the screen fills with confetti and noise while time is still left. This is particuarly annoying when the next word is "finished" :) 3. The speed test is annoying because you cannot see more than a couple words at a time. My score will improve with app improvements.

This App helps users go from knowledge of the patterns for letters, punctuation etc to the point that they can achieve 30wpm after a month. There are exercises, speed tests etc for the user, and statistics to indicate progress. The Tap strap has a steep learning curve - so TA needs to be exceptionally good and be judged to a high standard. Two things could be better. It needs to learn what letters are giving problems, and give focused tests with those. Also one exercise (Popping Ls) has defects.

So frustrating. This app succeeded in making me resent my Tap. Where it could have had features like detecting which letters you get wrong most frequently, and providing information such as hand position if its that your thumb isnt being reliably detected or alternate patterns, instead it patronisingly repeats a message to slow down. That its all speed based games doubles the irritating hypocracy. I cant read the messages it gives while playing, and it lags on my phone, making it hard to use.
