About this app

PoolMath makes swimming pool care, maintenance and management easy by tracking chlorine, pH, alkalinity and other levels to help calculate how much salt, bleach and other chemicals to add. Keep swimming in your TroubleFreePool with Pool Math.

Crystal clear algae free pool water is what Trouble Free Pool Math is committed to. Pool Math performs all the calculations you need to keep your chlorine, pH, calcium, alkalinity, and stabilizer levels balanced.

Why choose Pool Math over the others?

Other apps claim to make testing easy by using test strips and your phone's camera. Unfortunately, this is simply too good to be true. Test strips are notoriously inaccurate and end up costing you much more money in both chemicals and the tests themselves in the long run. Trouble Free Pool believes using a proper test kit is much easier, effective, and economical in the long run.

By following these calculations the pool owner achieves and maintains crystal clear water without reliance on the often unproductive advice and unneeded trips to the pool store.

Pool Math's great features include:
• Calculators for pH, Free Chlorine, Calcium Hardness, Salt, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, Borates, CSI
• Track Maintenance: Backwashing, Vacuuming, Filter Cleaning, Filter Pressure, SWG Cell %, Flow Rate
• Track Chemical Additions
• Bleach Price Calculator - Find the best deals on bleach easily
• Summary page with test and chemical log insights and totals
• Data backup / Export

Premium Subscribers get access to these additional features:
• Unlimited Test Log History Storage
• Maintenance Reminders
• Cloud Sync/Backup
• Sync across multiple devices
• Unlimited Pool / Spa Configurations
• Test Log CSV Import / Export

This app used to be useful for free, now basically requires a subscription to use. The message prompting you to subscribe explains that the subscription is for unlimited log storage... Ok, don't let me store unlimited logs and let me use it locally only for free. Let me clear my old data if I want (I've looked and see no option for this). But no, that is not an option.

Thanks for the feedback. We actually have not changed the “free” functionality and have always allowed a single log, so it would be great to better understand what changes you are seeing from the previous version in this area? poolmath@troublefreepool.com

App works well for tracking test results and the recommendations makes it very easy to know how much chemicals to add. The only thing that keeps me from rating this 5 stars is the inability to configure the ideal ranges to align with my pool equipments recommendations. For example, the recommended CA is too high and exceeds the recommended level for my heater, and I'd rather not see a notice that my CA levels are below the recommendated level which is right at what the manufacturer recommends.

This was suggested in a pool forum for tracking LSI. You need a paid subscription to log more than 1 pool chem reading. Don't bother advertising as a free app if it's essentially functionless without a paid subscription. The endless hidden upsell is so annoying. I logged my current reading, and all values were well within the recommended range, yet I got alerts that several of my readings were too low or too high. Pointless.

Sorry to hear you were frustrated. The app does offer calculations for free, and you can always edit your existing 'free' log to update your readings, or enter them on the advice screens. We hope that whose who choose to subscribe find value, and we appreciate the support to maintain and improve the app. Thanks for the feedback!
