Ratings and reviews

Although the app itself looks useful, it has two major issues leading to an uninstall: (1) insane battery consumption even though no journey tracking is enabled (70 % battery in 12 hours), (2) useless without a subscription: the "free" functionality is tracking for 10 minutes (sic!). Shall be paid at the first place, definitely not free + some in-app purchases.

The Mariner Boat GPS and Logbook app has been a reliable companion during my four long trips between Malta and Sicily. It has served its purpose admirably, providing me with a complete overview of the route, distance, and speed, while also allowing me to take notes and save logs on the same route. I thoroughly enjoyed the app's functionality and found it to be an essential tool for any marine traveler. The day pass price is reasonable, making it accessible to all, and I highly recommend this app

After subscribing I used this app for a 5 hour, 22nm sailing trip. It worked well reporting our speed, however the wind direction and speed sourced from OpenWeatherMap at the beginning of our journey did not update at all based on the changing conditions or our location. I verified in the OpenWeatherMap app that what it was reporting was different from when our journey started. Is this supposed to update? The interface is nice, however the heading is hard to read when sitting a distance from the device. I would be nice to see a compass heading around the Speed rather than showing the speed and a speedo.
