About this app

The latest release of the OTP SZÉP Card mobile app will help you keep easy track of your current balance and transactions, transfer advance, or check your unused balance of your benefits from two years ago; and the map search will help you find points of acceptance.
The application is available exclusively to the holders of an OTP SZÉP Card.

Already registered on our website?
You do not need to repeat your registration within the app if you already have an OTP SZÉP Portal (www.otpportalok.hu) account; once the authentication process is ready, you can log into the app with the same email address and password that you use for the Portal. For identification purposes, you will need your card number and birth date to start with. If your mobile phone is capable of fingerprint or facial recognition, you may also opt to use these functions for your subsequent logins.

If you have not registered yet you will need:
• the 16-digit number of your OTP SZÉP Card;
• your date of birth; and
• an active e-mail address.

After the submission of your card number and date of birth, please follow the subsequent steps offered by the application. During the registration process, you will need to submit your e-mail address and a password; then accept the Privacy Notice; and enter the confirmation code sent to your e-mail address. If your mobile phone is capable of fingerprint or facial recognition, you may also opt to use these functions for your subsequent logins.
Once you completed your registration, you may use the submitted e-mail address and password to log into the Portal as well.

Finally the NFC integration is available so you can add the virtual SZEP card to your e-wallet. Of course it does not work when you wanna pay with that. I've re-added it multiple times in google wallet, however when you try to pay using the virtual card, the termial says "non-existent card". Yes, the restaurant accepts OTP szep cards, it works fine using the plastic cards. Next time when you roll out a feature, you should first fully test it.. typic hungarian trash.

I must agree with Gergely Sallai's review. Let me add a few words: quite a few people are using password managers (e.g: lastpass, bitwarden) which utilizes randomly generated passwords. I understand the security risks in your reply, but please mind that not everyone has phone with biometric scanner and also, there are people who doesn't want to use such. Can you please give this functionality back? Apart from this the app is pretty neat, keep up the good work.

While the general idea of the app is good it's still like in a beta state and needs some serious improvements: 1. Sorting: When using the search function, the results are only displayed by alphabetical order in entire Hungary. It would be very helpful to have an option to sort by distance from your current location. 2. Inaccurate locations: A lot of places have their location marker far away (sometimes more than 100m) from their real location. 3. Hard selection: If some places are close to each other, it's often hard or even impossible to select them separately. Even when fully zoomed in, some locations cannot be selected, because another place is above it on the map. To worsen this, you have to unselect your former place first before you can select a new place. This should not be necessary. 4. This is the most crucial one for me: The app has places listed which do NOT accept the SZEP card or do NOT accept it anymore. Today this happened to me for the 2nd time, when I entered a location and after the service it turned out, they do not accept the SZEP card. There should be an option to report this! I hope I can help with improvement and when they take place I will increase the rating.
