About this app

This clinical decision support app builds a prevention plan by monitoring 10-year ASCVD risk, supporting both clinical decision-making and primary prevention care strategies. The updated ASCVD Risk Estimator Plus uses up to date science and user feedback to help a clinician and patient build a customized risk lowering plan by estimating and monitoring change in 10-year ASCVD risk.
Use the app to:
• Estimate a patient’s initial 10-year ASCVD risk using the pooled cohort equation.
• Receive an individualized, risk-based, intervention approach.
• Project the impact of specific interventions on a patient’s risk.
• Guide clinician-patient discussion around customizing an intervention plan.
• Update risk at follow-up based on a patient’s response to therapy using the Million Hearts Longitudinal model.

Advice from the app is derived from the following sources:
• 2020 Expert Consensus Decision Pathway on Novel Therapies for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes;
• 2019 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease;
• 2018 ACC/AHA et al. Guideline on the Management of Blood Cholesterol;
• 2018 ACC Expert Consensus Decision Pathway on Tobacco Cessation Treatment;
• 2013 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Assessment of Cardiovascular Risk;
• and the 2016 million Hearts Longitudinal ASCVD Risk Assessment Tool user guide.
This app supports clinical decision support for ASCVD primary prevention and is designed for use by qualified healthcare professionals. It supports—but does not replace—clinical judgment in assessing patient risk and preventive care strategies. The information and recommendations in this clinical decision support tool are meant to support clinical decision making. They are not meant to represent the only or best course of care or replace clinical judgment. Therapeutic options should be determined after discussion between the patient and their care provider.

Notification pop-up With app when placing patient data obscure the screen making it difficult to use in clinical setting, App interface needs modification for being usable in clinical setting!

Automatic update to plus. You added med recommendations previous data etc....but text is too big. What happened to th aesthetically pleasing version that would not freeze up when going from tab to tab...needs more work. Otherwise great bedside calculator!

I love having this app. It makes clinical decisions making about staying therapy more straightforward and some patients enjoy seeing theur numbers. However, there is this REALLY annoying aspect of the app where when you scroll - especially when your thumb is over a selectable item such as race - it clicks and changes your previous selection. It makes navigating the app really difficult at times. If the app developers fix that it would be a 10/10 app.
