The LeukoExpert Adviser is a prototype of support software for use by doctors in the diagnosis of leukodystrophies. As a guidance system, it is intended to help affected people receive targeted treatment as early as possible.
The pilot system uses a machine learning model that
was trained using clinical, imaging (MRI) and genetic data.
People from medicine and medical informatics were involved in the development
as well as psychology from the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences
University Hospital Leipzig, the University Hospital Tübingen, the
RWTH Aachen, the University Hospital Aachen, the IFDT Leipzig and the
Technical University of Dresden involved.
The LeukoExpert Adviser app is used for evaluation and is not intended for use for diagnostics. More information about the project can be found at https://leukoexpert.hs-mittweida.de/. LeukoExpert is funded by the Federal Ministry of Health of the Federal Republic of Germany.
