The Center for Culture and Art in Kalisz is a cultural institution with a 40-year tradition of cultural activity in the region. In the years 1975-1998, it served as a voivodeship institution, currently (by the decision of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship Assembly of September 21, 1998) CKiS in Kalisz was granted the status of the Institution of Culture of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship Self-Government.
The goals of the Center for Culture and Art in Kalisz are:
– recognizing, stimulating and meeting the cultural needs of the inhabitants of the region,
– strengthening the cultural competences of recipients,
– promotion of regional heritage as an important element of cultural heritage,
– cultural education of children and youth,
– presenting the latest content and artistic forms,
– promotion of important artistic and social events,
– inspiring and supporting non-governmental organizations operating in culture.
The object of activity of the Center for Culture and Art in Kalisz is culture based on living tradition - between the heritage of the past and the future - born of the regional individualism of Wielkopolska, respect for identity and at the same time conducive to the integration of groups and environments in the new reality of European civilization.
Centrum Kultury i Sztuki in Kalisz broadcasts a radio program called "Radio Centrum" on the frequency of 106.4 MHz, based on license No. 487/K/2021-R issued by the National Broadcasting Council. The sender is subject to the jurisdiction of the Republic of Poland. The competent body in matters of radio and television broadcasting is the National Broadcasting Council.
