Disorders that affect the mental health of the world's population have been the subject of news in the daily media and scientific literature, as they are already considered by many to be the evil of the century. Depressive disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, eating disorders and their consequences, call for direct attention due to the very serious consequences, both on the health and well-being of patients and their families, and on business organizations due to the increasing absenteeism and presenteeism that already amount to direct costs. of 4.7 trillion dollars annually (2021). Patients with these disorders do not talk about them easily, as in addition to being stigmatizing, they often do not feel the courage, energy or willingness to act or escape the situation they find themselves in, much less during more serious crises when They do not wait for appointments to be made and resort to self-mutilation or commit suicide. Among young people aged 15 to 29, suicide was the second leading cause of death in 2019, according to WHO data. There is a lack of preventive proposals, since these disorders are also fed by the lack of access to healthcare and the lack of real-time monitoring and action mechanisms. Using state-of-the-art mathematical and IT tools, we developed a powerful mediation platform between patients and the healthcare system, without investing in dedicated hardware, but using the smartphone that is already in the hands of almost everyone in the world.
EGO, a solution that connects the patient (APP) to the healthcare system (Dashboard), is not intended to diagnose mental disorders, but has the possibility of monitoring the patient, as it captures emotions in real time, and places them o in direct contact with health professionals or support centers, such as veterans, alcoholics, drug users and countless social service channels. Additionally, we took care to prepare the EGO to receive new functionalities and sensors for measuring vital signs, as the cell phone industry implements them in new versions. Through the application, in addition to emotions being captured in photographic selfies, they are also scanned and treated by mathematical algorithms, as it opens up the possibility of launching other versions of EGO, for example, to detect signs of fear, simultaneously with the identification of evidence physical aggression, to help victims of abuse in real time.
