About this game

Mathdoku and Killer Sudoku for Masters!

We made this game for ourselves to play it daily. So we have introduced a lot of tools to skip trivial parts of the both Mathdoku and Killer Sudoku and have fun only with challenging parts.

Avoid boring tapping with these unique features:

- start the game with smartly filled cells with 'maybes' only with possible digits according to the rules for Mathdoku and Killer Sudoku
- long tap cells with 2 or 3 'maybes' to remove trivial 'maybes' in other cells in the same row/column/cage/segment
- lazy mode option in settings to automate trivial solutions (be careful, it's for real Masters)

Help yourself with hard puzzles using these features:

- integrated DigitCalc, a simple calculator that computes all possible combinations of digits in selected cage considering already resolved cells and whether duplicates are allowed.
- set checkpoint by long tapping undo button and rewind to it whenever you want
- option to sum numbers in cages to help in Killer Sudoku solving
- check if solved cells are correct

Rules

As in Sudoku, for both Mathdoku and Killer Sudoku digits may appear only once in each row and column. But unlike Sudoku, these games also have so-called cages..
Each cage in the first cell has a number and an arithmetic operation. The number should be the result of that arithmetic operation using all the digits inside the cage. E.g. '5+' means that all the digits in that cage add up to 5. The order in which the digits are used in the cage is not relevant. Obviously, in Mathdoku only two-cell cages can have a subtraction or division operation.

Mathdoku specifics:
- grid size from 4x4 to 9x9
- all four basic arithmetic operations are used
- digits can be used more than once per cage

Killer Sudoku specifics:
- grid size 9x9 only
- only sum operation in a cage
- no repeating digits inside cage\n
- grid is divided into nine 3x3 quadrants for which the same rules apply

Detailed help and tutorial are available in the game menu. You can also watch YouTube on how to play Mathdoku from Google Play listing or directly from the game.

This game is a descendant of "Mathdoku extended" which had a bunch of loyal players due to the cleanest design and playfulness of all the variants you can find.

You can play one game daily for free and additional just by watching ad. Short intermediate pop-up ads, which will NEVER pop up during the game, could be avoided for a small amount of money, forever!
We consider coin system to be fairer than a subscription, so you only pay (or watch an ad) for the games you play on top of the daily freebies.

Numerous improvements have been made since I first discovered it and pointed out minor problems that should be fixed. The current version works perfectly, as far as I can tell. I have not yet solved the next level of difficulty, but I enjoy meeting challenges of the first few levels. Ads make the game cheap, but some of them invite users to click onto dangerous sites. Some remain too long before we can move on.

I have been playing this for years and it continues to be THE BEST KenKen app out there. I have to admit, at first I wasn't a fan of the new monetization model, but developers need to eat too! On the subject of developers, a recent update made the game unplayable on my device. I emailed the team with a screenshot and device info and they responded and fixed it in 24 hours! Great game and great team behind it.

This used to be an absolutely great app. It was simple, it did the basics, it was fun. Then it changed—it became flashier with no real benefit added (did someone new take it over? can't tell, but maybe) and it was monetized in a particularly insidious way, where even paying for no ads doesn't actually remove all ads. (ETA: Monetizing is fine, but doing it the way they did? Completely uncool.) I'll be uninstalling, which really is a pity. It used to be so good, and they had to go and ruin it.

Yes, David, it's still absolutely great app from the same developers who invested hundreds of hours to make this game even better and majority of players like it. Unfortunately there are few who think they don't deserve even a small fee or watching very few ads (never during game play), after daily free game. Even punish them by lowering rating.
