This application is intended to facilitate the general public's approach to the geological heritage of the districts of Cuatro Valles.
For this purpose, 28 Geological Interest Points (PIGs) have been selected, which are not, by far, all the points of interest in the territory. Your choice responds to its relevance, its accessibility or its capacity to support visits without compromising its conservation. These are enclaves where different aspects related to the geological, paleontological and mining heritage of Cuatro Valles can be appreciated with certain ease.
The 28 PIGs are distributed in the 7 regions that make up the territory. They have many other signals installed on the ground, which have included a QR code through which you will directly access a specific PIG.
At each point we have tried to provide simple information through texts, photographs, diagrams or illustrations, which facilitate the understanding of the phenomena that can be seen in the field. It is about facilitating the observation of the invaluable information printed in the rocks regarding the origin and evolution of these valleys and mountains, the changes that occurred in them and the beings that populated them for millions of years.
