About this game

MAME4droid 2024 is developed by David Valdeita (Seleuco) as a port of the MAME 0.271 emulator by MAMEDev and contributors. It emulates arcade games and systems like ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX etc. This version of MAME support over 40000 different ROMs.

* MAME4droid is an EMULATOR and DOES NOT INCLUDE ROMS OR COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL OF ANY KIND.

(NOTE: MAME4droid is not supported, nor does it have anything to do with Mame's team. Don't bother them with questions about MAME4droid)

This version of MAME4droid was designed to be used with high-end Android devices because it is based on the latest PC MAME version which requires higher specifications than the older versions.

Even with a high-end device, do not expect "modern" arcade games from the 90s and beyond to necessarily work at full speed or compatibility.

With over 40000 games and system supported, some games will run better than others; some games may not run at all. It is impossible to support such a vast number of titles, so please do not email me asking for support for a specific game.

After installing, place your MAME-titled zipped ROMs in /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.seleuco.mame4d2024/files/roms folder (Read the help to see other possibilities for reading your ROMs).

IMPORTANT NOTE: This MAME4droid version uses only '0.269' romset not romset from older versions.

I really like this version. However, I can't seem to get Asteroids to work 100%. The game starts up and plays but the ship doesn't turn clockwise and counter clockwise. Everything else works, such as hyperspace, the fire button and thrusters . I tried settings and different roms versions but no luck. The same thing happen with last version and I thought it would have been fixed in this version. So far the other games work.

You should press coin + start at the same time when the game is running. Then go to input settings and bind left and right to buttons or to the stick. There are some older games that are not binding the defaults buttons correctly but you can fix it as i have explained. Enjoy.

EDIT: analog fixed, 5 stars! This is amazing! Playing on a Retroid Flip. I am a huge fan of SEGA System 16 era games and they're all running flawlessly. My only feedback is that while there's a setting to auto-detect analog triggers, there doesn't seem to be a way to set them manually. Being able to play racers with analog gas and breaking would make this perfect. MAME's keyboard-based UI is also a little tricky on a mobile device but it's worth the hassle and can be bypassed with a launcher.

This is a pretty good improvement on the 2010 version. Some things aren't as they once were, however. It's difficult to set up trackball in-game speed for games such as SegaSonic the Hedgehog that use a trackball. Some audio stuttering is also apparent, too, and some options aren't available, like upscaling HQx. Overall, it's not super terrible. The 3D games function now, great. I wouldn't highly recommend this version of MAME4droid, I would hope the issues I listed here get fixed.
