About this app

This app is used by participants who have been invited to join a research study in the Copenhagen Research Platform (CARP) at the Technical University of Denmark.

If you have been invited to join one of our studies, this app will help you collect and visualize data. The app can collect active and passive data from the phone and sensor data from connected wearable devices.

Active data includes surveys, questionnaires, cognitive assessments, images, and audio recordings. Passive data includes step count, mobility patterns, and phone interaction.

The app may ask you to connect to external wearable devices via Bluetooth, if needed in the study you participate in. For example, a heart rate monitor. You may choose to connect to wearable devices, or not. The app will function independently of this.

By joining a study, you can help researchers better understand the connection between everyday activities and health at a large scale. Each study comes with a detailed description of its purpose, what data is collected, and the name and contact information of the researcher (primary investigator) responsible for the study. The app also provides newsletters and announcements on the study you are part of.

The Carp Studies App is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical conditions.
