IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE INITIAL FEEL, MAKE SURE TO PLAY WITH THE SETTINGS. THERE'S A TOOONNNN OF OPTIONS THERE TO MAKE IT FEEL GOOD! Coming off of RIF now that most 3rd parties have been killed off, this app is not quite what I'm used to but most of the changes are either just different, not really worse. It has a feel and look not quite like other apps but the sheer number of options make it very digestible. Very pleased!!!

It's not perfect, but it's miles better than the hot garbage the official app is. RedReader let's me see posts from all the subs I'm subscribed to instead of just the ones the algorithm wants me to see, an no suggested subs. Still fiddling with the customization and the interface will take some getting used to, but so far so good. I'll never forget you Reddit Is Fun.

I couldnt find a way to change it to look more compact. It's the "cards" format that's default on most apps. I prefer a list or compact layout, I dont want big videos that I'm not interested in cluttering my feed. Maybe theres a way to change it, but it was too difficult for me to figure out. Looked through all the settings. It's also very slow just like new reddit and the reddit app.

Hey, are you just looking to hide the inline images/videos? If so, this is under Settings > Images/Video > Inline image previews. I'm surprised to hear it's slow for you, the app is very lightweight -- the issue is possibly your internet connection. Turning off images may free up some bandwidth though!
