Über diese App
The Beacon application helps to show your friends and relatives where you are and/or vice versa - to see their movements. To notify about your current location, just press the "START" button and send a completed SMS message with a link to the tracking code to the selected recipients.
Recipients will automatically install and run the same app on their phones by clicking on the link in your SMS message. After that they will see your location pointed with a marker on the map.
The position of the marker moves with you until you turn off the tracking mode on your phone with the "FINISH" button.
The Beacon app may be useful:
- if you need to quickly and easily report your location and movement;
- to tell someone where you are now;
- when you need to track the movement of the child on the way to school and home;
- to meet someone or find each other in a crowded place.
Unlike similar applications, the initiative and control of the transfer of location data are completely on the side of the observed person. Only he or she decides who and for how long to transfer location data. This location data is transmitted only to the devices of the selected recipients and only in the interval between pressing the "START" and "FINISH" buttons in the application.
The application can be used on its own, but it is also useful in addition to full-featured parental control applications, as it improves their reliability by ensuring that navigation and the Internet are enabled at the right time.
The application needs internet access and an open sky to receive satellite navigation signals.
The Beacon app must permit access to location data for the location tracking mode. In Android 10 and newer for the tracking mode in the background and when the phone screen is locked you additionally need to Allow all the time location permission.
To improve the stability we also recommend turning off a battery saver for this app.
