Focus Shield works as a powerful app blocker and website blocker. Search and select apps such as social media, games, or streaming platforms and lock them during your focus session. Blocked apps display a lock screen until the session ends.

You can also add websites you want restricted so you can stay focused while studying or working.

Schedule Focus Sessions ⏳

Create focus sessions with a start time and custom duration. Choose session types like Study Session or Deep Work.

You can schedule recurring sessions such as Daily, Weekly, Weekdays, or custom days to build a consistent focus routine.

Repeating Sessions 🔁

Set sessions to repeat on specific days and define an end date. Focus Shield automatically manages your focus schedule.

Accessibility, Permissions and Data Disclosure

AccessibilityService Usage

Focus Shield uses Android AccessibilityService to enable app blocking functionality. The service detects which app is open, blocks selected apps, and displays a blocking screen when restricted apps are launched.

Focus Shield does not read screen content, record keystrokes, or monitor personal activity. All processing happens locally on the device. Accessibility permission is optional and enabled only by the user.

Permissions Required

Usage Access allows the app to detect running applications so selected apps can be blocked during focus sessions.

Overlay permission allows Focus Shield to display a blocking screen when restricted apps are opened.

Accounts and Cloud Services ☁️

Focus Shield uses Firebase services by Google for secure sign-in, storage of focus sessions and preferences, cloud synchronization across devices, push notifications, and support messaging.

Privacy Commitment 🔒

Only necessary account information such as email and user ID is used. No personal data is sold or shared with third parties.
