Diffuse is a wellness tool for moments of stress and anxiety. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. You press and hold the home screen to begin, and the app takes you into a breathing rhythm. From there, you choose what you need — grounding, journaling, muscle relaxation, or just to sit with the breath until the wave passes.
If you're in crisis, the app shows you real helplines for your country. If you have an ongoing mental health condition, please speak to a qualified professional. Diffuse isn't a substitute for that — it sits alongside it. Open it on a difficult evening. Or when your thoughts won't settle. Or when you just need to slow your breath.
Inside the app:
– A press-and-hold panic button that drops you straight into guided breathing
– Several breathing patterns (4-7-8, box, resonant)
– 5-4-3-2-1 grounding to bring you back into your body
– Progressive muscle relaxation
– A brain dump space where you can write what's in your head, then keep it or let it go
– Cognitive reframing prompts that gently challenge unhelpful thoughts
– Optional AI-powered reflections (off by default, fully opt-in)
Privacy matters here. Your journal entries, session history, and settings stay on your phone. The AI feature is opt-in and off until you turn it on yourself — and even then, you choose every time whether to send something for a response. If you don't enable AI, nothing you write ever leaves your device.
No accounts. No ads. No behavioural tracking. The app is free.
