Every mount, adjustment, inspection and release check, written down the same way and still findable in five years.
BindingLog is the bench record for a ski and snowboard shop. Four steps, fourteen fields, one locked PDF for each pair that crosses the counter. It is what you reach for when a manufacturer audits your indemnification paperwork, or an attorney asks about a service three seasons back.
ON THE RECORD
Customer name, address, phone, date of birth, age on the day. Height and weight in your bench's units. Skier type, and the skier code read off the maker's chart. Boot make, model, sole length. Ski or board make, model, length, serial. Binding make, model, serial. Date, technician, outcome.
READINGS, NOT A CALCULATION
Four corners: toe left, toe right, heel left, heel right. You type what your own release-test device displayed, beside the in-use range you entered, and each corner reads In range, Adjusted & retested, or Out of range - referred. BindingLog carries no torque table and reprints no part of ASTM F1063, ISO 11088 or ISO 13992: it stores the indicator setting read off the maker's chart and what the tester showed. Serials go in by barcode, by text recognition, or typed.
A SIGNATURE THAT HOLDS UP
Your own release wording, versioned in Settings, so you can show which version a customer signed. The signing control stays locked until the customer scrolls to the bottom. Under an age you set, Self is refused and a parent or guardian must sign.
Signing locks the row in the database, not merely on screen. A later correction goes on as a dated addendum; a record is voided with a reason, never quietly rewritten. The PDF carries its own SHA-256 hash.
FIVE YEARS, AND THE APP ENFORCES IT
Binding manufacturers ask a shop to hold every service record for five years, or longer where the statute of limitations in your state runs longer. That paperwork is what an indemnification programme rests on. BindingLog works out a keep-until date when a record is created, and refuses to erase anything before it.
FINDING ONE PAIR AGAIN
One field searches customer name, phone, ski serial, binding serial, make and model at once. Filters pull up drafts, unsigned records, out-of-range referrals and retention running out.
THE TUNE BENCH RIDES ALONG
Base and side bevel, grind pattern, P-Tex repair, hot wax with temperature range, tip and tail detune. Priced lines become a work ticket moving through Received, In progress, Ready and Picked up, with a counter PDF and a QR label that reopens it.
WHAT YOU CAN HAND OVER
- Service record PDF: shop header, technician, keep-until date
- Work ticket PDF and QR ski label, to a Bluetooth or ordinary printer
- CSV by date range, or by binding make for a manufacturer audit
- Season archive ZIP: CSV, JSON, every PDF and photo
- Blank fourteen-field paper forms on your letterhead
EVERY TECH, EVERY BENCH
Technicians carry initials, a certification number and a four-digit PIN, and swap on one tablet without signing out. Register each piece of release-test equipment with its serial and calibration date; it prints on every record and reminds you when it is due. Several tablets merge through one folder.
WHERE THE DATA SITS
On the tablet, and in the folder you choose: a shop drive, a NAS share, a memory stick. No account, no portal, no server software, nothing leaves the building. No advertising on any plan - these screens face customers. The interface reads in English, German, French, Italian and Japanese.
WHAT IT IS NOT
Not a till. Not a rental management system. Not a DIN calculator. It is the service log, the work order, the archive.
FOR
Ski and snowboard shops that mount, adjust and tune. Rental fleets checking their own equipment before it goes out the door. Resort workshops, boot fitters, and anyone who has answered a manufacturer audit out of a filing cabinet.
PURCHASE
Unlock with a weekly or yearly plan, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Price and billing period are shown in advance.
