DevoFin requires READ_SMS permission solely to automatically detect bank
transaction notifications and categorize personal expenses.

Core functionality: The app reads incoming and existing SMS messages from
known bank sender IDs (e.g. HDFCBK, SBIINB, MASHREQ) to identify
transaction amounts, merchant names, and account numbers. This is the
primary and only feature that requires SMS access.

Data handling: All SMS content is processed entirely on the user's device
using local pattern matching algorithms. No SMS content, financial data,
or personal information is transmitted to any server, stored externally,
or shared with any third party.

Alternative: There is no viable alternative to SMS permission for this
feature as Indian and UAE banks deliver transaction alerts exclusively via
SMS. The app cannot function without this permission.

DATA COLLECTION
DevoFin does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external
servers. All data remains on your device.

SMS ACCESS
The app reads SMS messages solely to detect bank transaction notifications.
- SMS content is never uploaded to any server
- SMS is processed locally using pattern matching
- Only messages from known bank sender IDs are analyzed
- You can revoke SMS permission at any time in device settings

DATA STORAGE
All transaction data, bills, and settings are stored in a local SQLite
database on your device only.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
DevoFin does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising,
or data collection services.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
DevoFin is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly
collect data from children.
