About this app

Custodis helps you review and redact sensitive details on your Android device before you choose to send text to AI. It looks for names, Social Security numbers, account numbers, addresses and other private values. Review the detections and the exact AI text before sending.

HOW IT WORKS

• Scan or import — capture documents or receipts, or select one or more PDF and image files.
• Keep documents separate — review, reorder, or remove up to 10 document containers and 50 pages. Documents are never merged. Original batch exports stay as separate PDFs; a redacted batch exports as a ZIP containing separate redacted PDFs.
• Keep every receipt page — review every captured page, then save to Photos or share each page as a separate JPG.
• Redact on your device — Custodis finds private values and lets you review what is covered.
• Keep approved documents — choose Save to Custodis Files from Document or Ask AI. Keep the original, protected text, local token key and reviewed redacted PDF in encrypted app storage.
• Reopen without rescanning — view a saved document or select saved documents for a new chat. Reopening does not use another redaction. Saved copies are read only; chat history is not saved. Originals still contain private information and require a warning before opening or exporting.
• Ask AI — only the exact text you approve is sent through the Custodis relay after you choose Send. Values you keep redacted use placeholders; values you choose to unredact are included.
• Restore locally — real values are restored only on your device. The token map does not leave the device.

Custodis is designed for professionals and individuals who need useful AI assistance without handing raw client, financial, tax, legal, or health details to a chatbot.

PRIVACY-FIRST ANDROID WORKFLOWS

• Raw documents stay local during ordinary redaction and AI use.
• Saved scans are encrypted in Android-protected app storage.
• Custodis Files stays on this device, with no automatic cloud sync. Deleting app data or uninstalling removes these saved files.
• Clear document copies are not written to app cache for sharing.
• Built-in OpenAI and Anthropic access, and permission to copy protected text outside Custodis, are separate choices that start off. Changing a choice sends nothing. A provider receives protected content only after you later choose to send a request.
• Selected Insurance and Veterinary specialists run locally. Each may download about 183 MB the first time it is used and may download again if Android clears the app cache.

FREE AND SUBSCRIPTION ACCESS

• Free — complete redaction for two documents on this Android installation without a payment method. A multi-page document counts once. Each successfully completed document in a batch counts separately; failed, canceled, or abandoned work does not count.
• Personal — unlimited on-device redaction, common personal tax forms, and 50 AI questions each month.
• Pro — everything in Personal, the full tax and IRS document pack, and 200 AI questions each month.

There is no introductory trial. Paid access begins when Google Play confirms the purchase and Custodis securely verifies it. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play.

Secure Document Share and Send to computer are not included in this Android update and remain hidden.

What’s new

Bolder red and green buttons now show your current redaction choice as soon as review opens. Save approved documents to encrypted Custodis Files from Document or Ask AI, then reopen originals, protected text and reviewed PDFs without rescanning. Review confirmations, provider permissions and explicit Send remain unchanged. Chat history is not saved, and there is no automatic cloud sync.
