About this app

Ever pick up your phone for a "quick check" and lose 20 minutes?

You meant to check one thing, but the feed pulled you in. That’s the "Scrolling Trance." Your rational mind goes offline, and the algorithm puts your brain on autopilot.

Detoxly is your External Circuit Breaker.

We are not just another app blocker. We are a neuro-minimalist launcher designed to intercept impulsive app opens, interrupt doomscrolling loops, and hand control back to your rational mind.

On average, Detoxly users report 47% less screen time within their first three months. Don't just block apps—break the loop.

HOW IT WORKS: ADAPTIVE FRICTION

Hard blocks just create resistance. Detoxly works with your brain, not against it. We introduce a "conscious pause" at two critical moments:

🛑 1. The Gatekeeper (Impulse Control)

Stop the loop before it starts. We intercept impulsive app opens. Instead of instantly launching a distraction, we force a moment of choice. Often, that split-second pause is all your rational brain needs to say "no."

🧠 2. Context-Aware Reality Checks

Target the specific trigger. Detoxly knows why you are scrolling. Whether it’s the "Comparison Trap" on social media, the "Slot Machine Effect" in dating apps, or "Brain Rot" from short videos, we deploy hyper-specific interventions to break that specific psychological loop.

🌑 3. Sensory Dampening

Make scrolling unrewarding. As you exceed your limit, we don't just nag you—we change the environment. Detoxly progressively dims the screen and fades out audio, stripping away the dopamine triggers that keep you hooked.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

📱 Minimalist Text Launcher

Colorful icons are engineered dopamine triggers. Detoxly neutralizes them. Replace your chaotic home screen with a clean, text-only interface designed for intention, not browsing.

🔔 Notification Filter

Quiet the digital "Hey!" We batch and hide non-urgent pings so you can check them on your own terms, not the algorithm's.

WHY CHOOSE DETOXLY?

If you are looking for screen time control that respects your intelligence, this is it. We combine the simplicity of a dumb phone interface with the power of high-end behavioral science.

Psychological Precision: Interventions tailored to Social, Dating, Games, and Shorts.

Break the Trance: Stop doomscrolling with Sensory Dampening.

Achieve Screen Zen: A clutter-free, text-based home screen.

Digital Autonomy: Powered by On-Device AI. All analysis happens offline, ensuring your data never leaves this device.

Your brain is on autopilot. It’s time to wake up. Download Detoxly today.

This app is a mess. It's annoying that the keyboard pops up every time you go to the app list, and I hate that the app interruptions are just the same with different words and easily circumvented, although it does tell you you can't ask for more time after five snoozes, but that's just annoying and you can close and reopen. Also don't like that it only does interruptions after you've hit your defined time limit for the day. And it won't let you choose any search engine for home screen.

Initial impressions are good, I appreciate the home screen and clear alphabetical list of apps. Would like to be able to personalise the lower icon. bar and I've contacted the dev about how to find the 'Personal / Work' app list as shown in the screenshots...

Hi I love the app and its functions. I think it served its purpose well but I do have a suggestion that would make the interface experience more seamless. I would appreciate it if you guys include the gestures option in systems navigation and not just buttons. I've gotten used to just swiping here and there and reverting back to buttons feels uncomfortable. Thanks.

Dear John, your suggestion is excellent indeed - initially we tried "navigation to Detoxly settings on right swipe" but later removed this due to added UI complexity & responsiveness issues. We will reassess restructuring the layout this way again and consider for our development roadmap!
