You can also code-switch. That means that you can start the sentence in your target language and just finish it in English. Your teacher will show you how to form the sentence correctly!

Not even making it past the free trial. Constant connection issues and transcription errors that make the app unusable. I just had to say, "No, I meant..." three times before it caught the word I was saying, at which point the errors had completely derailed the conversation. I also have to talk extremely slowly to reduce the chance of even more errors, which is inhibitive to speaking practice.

So, I recently did their 30 day challenge, and I made it through all 30 days. I missed things in the instructions that seemed unclear, so it didn't appear I was going to get my credit, even though I finished the challenge. FWIW, if you do that challenge again, I DO have recommendations on how to make it more clear. That being said, I still don't understand why some people are giving this app such poor reviews. Besides occasional glitches during their meteoric growth curve, it's been excellent!

Really useful app. I got the free trial and really appreciated the ability to do hands-free conversations with Xiaoma on topics I wanted. I found the translate button and the explanation options really helpful. customer service was great when I encountered a technical problem, too. Right now it's a little expensive for me, so I canceled, but I highly recommend it and I look forward to doing it at a time when I can really use it everyday and justify the cost
