The Amplified Bible (AMP) is an English language translation of the Bible. "Amplifications" are words or phrases intended to more fully bring out the meaning of the original text but distinguished from the translation itself by a unique system of brackets, parentheses, and italics. The translation is largely one of formal equivalence (word-for-word).The AMP Holy Bible for readability and clarity, with updated English and improved amplifications. Amplified Bible largely offers a word-for-word (formal equivalence) translation, in contrast to thought-for-thought (dynamic equivalence) translations at the opposite end of the Bible translation spectrum. Amplification is indicated by parentheses, brackets, italicized conjunctions, and bold or italicized text. Each form provides different kinds of information to the individual reader. Amplified Bible is unique among Bible versions in that it provides "amplifications"—synonyms and explanations in brackets and parentheses within the text. The strength of this version is that it acknowledges that no single English word or phrase can capture precisely the meaning of the Hebrew or Greek. Ok, but not too many features. Big disappointment; unable to select chapter and verse simultaneously, you must select book, then chapter, and then have to scroll through all the verses to select the one you need😞 , no setting to send verse of the day etc.

Reading the bible is always a good thing i really fell in love with the amplified version. When it came out I didn't do all that. Great in high school with really is a good translation. To help me to understand a lot better than reading old king James. We don't speak king James. I don't know why these preachers are insisting. Upon using that stuff anymore. That translation, I guess because it's the only version that they believe in. I don't know.

I never thought I would ever change from my beloved "King James" version of the bible. However, this "Amplified Classic" version is the ultimate description of Individual WORDS that I can honestly say, "It Totally Blows Me Away" each & every time! 😁
