BlackGentry is a members-only dating app designed for ambitious and intentional singles.

We are a classy community of singles who have themselves together and have high standards. Every profile is reviewed by the membership committee before being accepted. This way you get to be part of a group of quality singles who want something real.

Prospective members can download the app and submit an application. Once submitted, applications are placed on a waitlist and are reviewed by the membership committee. The membership committee looks for quality and detailed profiles with clear images. An applicant’s status can change from waitlist to accepted at any time. Any profile that does not represent these values are rejected and removed.

Our community values are kindness, respect, integrity and growth. Our mission is to provide an online community that makes it easier for Black singles to establish healthier connections and relationships.

All users can chat with their matches for free and also send a limited number of Direct Messages per day (messages to people you haven’t matched with yet). Users can choose to subscribe to Deluxe or VIP to enable more features.

BlackGentry Deluxe is an auto-renewable subscription service provided within the app. Activate BlackGentry Deluxe and get access to send unlimited likes, rewind profiles, hide ads, send unlimited Direct Messages, see who likes you, change locations, and see Second Chance.

BlackGentry VIP is an auto-renewable subscription service provided within the app. Activate BlackGentry VIP and you will get all the features of Deluxe (send unlimited likes, rewind profiles, hide ads, send unlimited direct messages, see who likes you, change locations, see Second Chance) PLUS ability to enable incognito mode and access Gentry Lounge.

Your subscription will be charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase and will automatically renew (at the duration selected) unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Current subscription may not be cancelled during the active subscription period; however, you can manage your subscription to a higher plan and/or turn off auto-renewal by visiting your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.

Subscriptions & purchases are also forfeited if you delete your account. All prices are in U.S Dollars and may vary in other countries other than the U.S. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Subscriptions are tied to only one BlackGentry account and cannot be transferred to new accounts.

Just downloaded the App. Didn't know you have to pay for everything. Can't respond to direct messages without paying. I'm guessing you get a certain amount of pages you can go through before it starts requiring a payment. Not seeing too many Men my age or location. Will be deleting the App, I'll stick with the free apps. BLK is a better app. You can swipe & message as much as you want, you only have to pay to view the super likes. I was just checking out BG.-- Reply: you didn't read correctly.

Definitely not the experience advertised. While the app makers can't control the user base of any given area, I expected to see profiles that aligned with the high standards claimed. Too many profiles had poor quality or obvious AI modified photos, or images of anything but a person (reported one only using pics of a child). Most were also incomplete or just photos, and I did not sense anything being "curated." And this is with a waitlist and "membership committee" who look for quality...

This app suck just paid for the deluxe subscription. Thinking to myself it's going better my experience, with unlimited likes and unlimited message. You can't see who's online, or the last time they were, and if someone read your message. After being on the long wait-list, tried the free subscription for a month or two. I wish I never paid for this scam.
