BlackGentry is a members-only dating app designed for ambitious and intentional singles.

We are a classy community of singles who have themselves together and have high standards. Every profile is reviewed by the membership committee before being accepted. This way you get to be part of a group of quality singles who want something real.

Prospective members can download the app and submit an application. Once submitted, applications are placed on a waitlist and are reviewed by the membership committee. The membership committee looks for quality and detailed profiles with clear images. An applicant’s status can change from waitlist to accepted at any time.

Our community values are kindness, respect, integrity and growth. Our mission is to provide an online community that makes it easier for Black singles to establish healthier connections and relationships. Any profile that does not represent these values are rejected and removed.

All users can chat with their matches for free and also send a limited number of Direct Messages per day (messages to people you haven’t matched with yet). Users can choose to subscribe to Deluxe or VIP to enable more features.

BlackGentry Deluxe is an auto-renewable subscription service provided within the app. Activate BlackGentry Deluxe and get access to send unlimited likes, rewind profiles, hide ads, send unlimited Direct Messages, see who likes you, change locations, and see Second Chance.

BlackGentry VIP is an auto-renewable subscription service provided within the app. Activate BlackGentry VIP and you will get all the features of Deluxe (send unlimited likes, rewind profiles, hide ads, send unlimited direct messages, see who likes you, change locations, see Second Chance) PLUS ability to enable incognito mode and access Gentry Lounge.

Your subscription will be charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase and will automatically renew (at the duration selected) unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Current subscription may not be cancelled during the active subscription period; however, you can manage your subscription to a higher plan and/or turn off auto-renewal by visiting your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.

Subscriptions & purchases are also forfeited if you delete your account. All prices are in U.S Dollars and may vary in other countries other than the U.S. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Subscriptions are tied to only one BlackGentry account and cannot be transferred to new accounts.

If I could give them one star, I would. I couldn't ever create an account because when I contacted the customer service email about the location list missing DC and having some states listed together, I got attitude and then it was never fixed. In response to the response below: the last email was a month ago saying someone would get back to me and no one indicated that I could proceed with creating a profile without selecting my state. And the customer service is still severely lacking.

This app consistently glitches & I have uninstalled this app at least 20 times in the last few days of having it to get it to work. And yes the number of people who have viewed your profile for you to see & move forward in DM'ng goes down if you decide to do a subscription. I will be canceling the subscription due to the constant crashing & just utilize the free option instead, this way I'm not paying for something that's constantly broken. Also, where is the contact us option??

I was extremely hopeful with this app. However, I couldn't even upload my photos! The app continuously kicked me out of the app and would delete the one photo it would allow me to upload. Moving forward with one photo was not an option either. There are serious glitches that kick you out and make you start all over in the sign up process. I tried for two days before giving up completely. Which makes me wonder if the high rating reviews are fake. 🤔
