Most accurate calorie counter. Take one photo, and each food on the plate gets its own grams, calories, protein, carbs and fat, so your numbers are actually right.
A burrito bowl comes back as rice, beans, chicken and guacamole, each with its own numbers, so you can see which part carried the calories.
HOW IT WORKS
1) Answer a few questions to set your daily targets
2) Photograph your meal*
3) Get grams, calories and macros for every item*
WHERE THE ACCURACY COMES FROM
Most calorie counters make you pick "one cup" or "medium portion" for a whole dish. A stew, a bowl, a plate with three things on it — one label, one guess, and the error lands on all of it at once.
Cal 3D breaks the meal into its parts. The chicken, the rice and the broccoli each get their own grams, protein, carbs and fat. That is where the accuracy comes from: three small estimates that you can check and correct beat one big estimate that you cannot. Correcting the rice no longer throws off the chicken.
DO I HAVE TO WEIGH MY FOOD?
No. A kitchen scale is still the most accurate thing in your kitchen, and every number in Cal 3D can be corrected or typed in by hand. The photo is there so that most meals never need the scale.
WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO USE THE CAMERA?
Then don't. The food database, the barcode scanner and manual entry cover every meal, and nothing forces you through the camera.
WHAT IF SOMETHING IS HIDDEN UNDER SOMETHING ELSE?
The app can only read what the photo shows. Anything covered is estimated — and every item in the food diary can be edited afterwards.
